Many thanks for the reply. Your indication as to those #'s that disappeared
in Money 2004 are exactly what I was referring to. Very sad that Microsoft
thinks that a feature like that is 'too complex' for me and 'takes away'
from features instead of adding to them. BTW, nice FAQ and nice rant - I
think you summarize the situation with Money 2005 very nicely.

I've not used a version of Quicken since 2000, so I'm hoping that it has
gotten better. I think I'm going to try it out and see what its like.
Hell, it can't be worse than this. The category view in 2005 is HORRIBLE.
I'm a big fan of the way the split category viewer worked, and this, too, is
unforgiveable.

Now, here's my official rant:

Oh well - thanks a lot, Microsoft. You've effectively neutered what used to
be a good product. Also - many thanks for the increasing number of ads and
online 'content' in what should be a 'online at will, not by design'
product. I love it when big brother mingles in my life, and it seems that
Money 2005 is just another way to have the man at my door.

to be turned on by some regkey or something similar? Any help is
appreciated....

This is frustrating enough to make me want to stop using the product - I
only switched to Money so I could sync w/ the Pocket PC, and I swear, it's
been one series of frustrations with the product over another, and nothing
seems to work as logically or simply as Quicken did/does.
