FWIW, I think their description of this feature is absolutely intentionally
misleading.

downloaded it again from a different PC, and it started the installation like
the purchased version, that I thought it could be run from multiple PCs.
After going back and re-reading the options it says accessible through MSN
Money from any PC.

I do run an iPAQ with Money2005 but the synch there has never been an issue.

updates. I have never been happy with the results of it trying to match my
existing entries. Just not worth the trouble for me. Needless to say
adding in more than one source is just going to complicate the problem.

I suspect we will all have to weight until all the sources of
information agree on a standard format before we see the kind of results I
would like. From personal experience of trying to work with data generated
from many outside sources, I really understand how difficult it is.

I've been a Money user since '98. I've never had a problem with the
application until I upgraded from 2000 to 2005. (I know it's a bit a span
there)

My main reason to upgrade came from the ability to run the application from
several different computers and maintain a balance. This has never worked
for me 'automatically'. If I make a entry one place it is rarely duplicated
in the other. I believe the culprit is actually MSN Money, not the
interface/application on the PC. When I compare bank balances between local
balances there is almost always a very large difference.

I believe most of this comes from MSN Money not being able to handle account
updates from two or more user sources as well as a bank source. It's just
not well thought out.

I've moved to running Money on just one PC now and still have a boatload of
problems. Automatic/Manual updates rarely work and I am plagued by having to
respond to the same 'Statement Reminders' whenever they do. I use online
updates because I like to see what is happening with my account. I'm tempted
to disable this 'feature' and just go back to manually downloading updates
from my bank. If I do that I will have sacrificed two of the main features
(multiple pc's and automatic account info) for which I bought the application
in the first place.

My latest issue comes from trying to balance my single account after the
fiasco of the multiple PC issue. After spending hours, if not days, trying
to reconcile my accounts I finally got them close by going back to my bank
statements and checking off each one manually. (So much for automation)
When I noticed my auto loan was missing most of the entries I checked the
register and they were all there. I tried to change the details/category to
no avail. I then manually entered the loan payments and went back to delete
the old ones. The 'delete' option was there, but they would not drop from
the register. I finally had to VOID the entries and leave them in my
register.

I've opened my second call with MS support and hope they have a better
answer of "Please delete your file and re-import from MSN Money". That's
equivalent to a wipe and reload of a PC. Just means they don't want to
investigate the cause of the problem, they just want to fix it at the
customers’ expense.

So after that little tirade, does anyone see this application becoming
stable and usable in the next year? I love some of the features and use this
software daily. I just want it to do the simple things like let me know what
my account balance is at a certain time of day.
