| Oddly enough, I've been using Quicken by Intuit for about as long as you've been using Money. And I just came to the opposite conclusion - I hate their latest version, I've had enough and I'm switching to Money 2005! And I'll bet there are probably an equal amount that switch between these two programs! Greener grass? Don't know yet! -- Jim McGowan ---------------------- "Spam protected" return address. | I've been using versions of Microsoft Money since 1997. Every couple of years or so I'd purchase a new version and enjoy the improvements. So when I moved up from my trusty MS Money 2003 (Canadian Edition Version 11 Standard) to MS Money 2005 (Apparently the Canadian Version, which is probably the Standard version) I thought it only reasonable to expect at least many features as my previous installation. One feature, which I found to be extremely useful in my Money 2003, was the "Cash Flow Forecast" feature. It was notably absent from the new 2005 Version, which I purchased. There was nothing on the box to indicate the feature was not available. I consider it essential to financial planning to be able to predict and see trends. With Money 2005 (Canadian Version) all you can see is what happened up to the moment and not what may happen “Cash Flow Forecast”, I understand, is now apparently available only on the Money 2005 Deluxe and above versions. I'm extremely disappointed with the Money 2005 I acquired. I really tried to find some way to live with it’s shortcomings but I've since removed it and reinstalled Money 2003. I would consider upgrading to Money 2005 Deluxe but I saw no such option for upgrading only on the MS websites. The only alternative is to buy the full version of Money 2005 Deluxe as far as I know. I mean I'd stand no chance for a refund after purchasing, installing, registering and sending for the rebate on the purchase I made. It would greatly upset me to have to buy two full programs to accomplish what it is I want. After my unpleasant and unprecedented experience with Money 2005 why should I ever consider a Microsoft Money product again and not go with the competition's personal financial software which has the features I seek for the same price? -- Now there are fields where once there was Troy - Ovid |
