A couple of observations, Steve:
1) Running within Money isn't new with 05.
2) The "fixes" that Standard Repair does aren't always either complete or
permanent.
I simultaneously used Money on two machines for quite a while; my
recommendation, based on my personal experience, is: don't do it.

I know what you mean; one reason you back up your money file regularly to a
safe place. But Money Repair has always fixed mine.

I think betting on standard repair to fix problems this creates is playing
with knives. Suit yourself. M02 or so needed to be made network friendly. I
wouldn't count on them caring by M06.

Frankly, one more thing, I thought Windows itself was supposed to handle the
networking use of a file itself. But I notice in Word, that if two people
try to use a Word file, the second user will get a "read only" document, so
you have to wait to edit until it becomes available. That would be
preferable for Money; of course, databases should be made for multi-users.

I have found that simultaneous use may cause troubles and may not. I have
always fixed it using Standard Repair. You have to run Repair from outside
Money04, though it runs within Money05, which is the main improvement (one
and only improvement?) in 05. I have it on my wife's pc and mine and I just
make sure she isn't using it by yelling "are you in Money"? before I start
it! Admittedly this low tech fix is difficult in a big house. Money '06
definitely needs to be made network friendly!

To the first "question," the answer is yes. You can use Money on a home
network. To the second "question," the answer is it will allow you to do
this and the end result will in most all cases be a ruined data file. Money
does absolutely nothing to either prevent or make the data file safe for
simultaneous access and, indeed, many users have demonstrated it to be
profoundly unsafe to your data file if you try to do so--even with
background things like Money Express.
