| You can set up money to use just a password instead of a passport but it will still connect to the web even when your not doing any online updates... | You can easily control Money's access to the internet with a free software firewall (Zone Alarm or Sygate for example). Just set the firewall to 'ask permission' each time Money wants to go to the internet. If you deny internet access, Money will continue to function with no problems. As for an option built within Money to stop internet access, I'll defer to the usual powers in this group. Personally I don't know of any way to do that. | I also would like to know why they feel they need to have money connect to the web. I really don't like viewing advertisements within a program I have paid good money for! I truned off the sponsership and shopping links but I still see ads, that have links to a website. | A1) Apparently because Microsoft thinks Most Users Prefer(tm) it this way. A2) No that anybody knows of short of disabling the network. A3) It fails to connect.
