| People are trying to help, but you mostly don't seem to want to answer their diagnostic questions. That will make it very hard to help you find a resolution, if one exists. If you open the Money sample file, do you get a signin page? Yes/No If you create a new Money file and don't assign a password/Passport, do you get a signin page? Yes/No If Money has never worked on this computer, how'd you create the Money file in the first place? What version of Money was on the computer you used? How did you move the file over to this computer? ________________ When you installed the M05 trial version, did you do an Internet Update to get it to version *.1105 before attempting to open your .MNY data file? Yes/No "Diane" <diane[at]discussions> wrote in message news:1B36D457-AFD5-43A7-875E-48A5A4A51CF5[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > My passport works online. Did you successfully use Money 2004 on that laptop before?> passowrd. My .netpassport does not work. Did you use a password or Passport with that Money file? File-> Search for "*.mbf,*.m12,*.mny" without the quotes on your computer. If you find a *.m12, make an extra copy in a different folder or onto CD so you have a backup. What is the state of the machine right now? What version of Money is installed. If Money 2004 is installed, I suggest you copy the *.m12 file to Diane4.mny. Then with Money, File-> Open that file. - quote - > I called HP and they said

| I tried to use Money 2004 installed on my HP laptop, and it asks for a passowrd. My .netpassport does not work. I called HP and they said uninstall and reinstall, but it didn't work. I have no choices except to enter password; the only selection is File - new, restore, backup, close. I tried to uninstall and install Money 2005 trial version -same problem. What can I do? -- Diane |
