I am having the same problem. I looked at CPU usage. For the first 5 or so
minutes Money is using 98 to 100% of the CPU. Not only does Money seem to
stop, but I cannot use any other program on the computer. I cannot even move
the mouse! There are plenty of similar complaints in the forum.

I have a graph or two--but will getting rid of those help with speed
elsewhere in the program? I can understand how losing the graphs would
speed up the home page, but my bigger concern is the slow speed at
which I have to enter data.

Thanks for your help.

FWIW...

M05 (with latest updates) was getting slower each time I used it. Not just at
startup, but most anytime I entered a new transaction in a register or displayed
the portfolio. As I understand it, the portfolio issue was because it was
updating prices everytime it was asked to show it (for instance, going from
check register to portfolio would cause an update via internet, then going over
to visa register and back to portfolio would cause another one.)

I started playing around with stuff to see if I could get the transaction entry
delay shorter (it was taking about 60 seconds each entry.) I normally don't use
a Passport, but went ahead and added one to my Money file. Transaction entries
seemed to speed up after that (only 5 seconds or so,) but over time, the delay
has lengthened back to what it was.

This is such a problem I can't believe MS isn't doing something about it. I have
around 5 years of transactions and stocks inputted, but it shouldn't take a
minute or so just to enter a transaction into my check register.

Have you got any expenditure graphs on the Home page - they can be a killer?

Default System slloooowwwingggggg downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

OK--if archiving won't help Money once it starts slowing down, any
other suggestions on how to speed it up again? I run McAfee virus
protection, etc., so I certainly don't expect my speed problem is
virus/spyware related.
