| Before I go through the EULA again, are you saying I can install the same copy on a desktop AND a laptop without infringing any piracy laws? | Since both are .1105, I don't think version compatibility is your issue. Retail M05 licenses permit installation on a desktop and the same user's secondary portable computer. See the EULA for exact language. This would enable you to be running the same edition/version on each machine. But Money works VERY POORLY and may corrupt files if you try to access the same file simultaneously from two places. Why wouldn't they make it like Excel? Because it's a database app and is very sensitive to the schema and what not of the database. Money has ALWAYS been version-specific from file to application. M05 adds the wrinkle of being service-level-specific. | I have 2005 Deluxe on my desktop computer and 2005 Standard on my laptop. I can't access the money file on the desktop computer hard drive from the laptop. It tells me the drive may eb write-protected and something else (I can't remember off the top of my head). The versions are different (14.0.80.1105 for Standard and 14.0.120.1105 for Deluxe), but I assumed that was because one was standard and one was Deluxe. Can you not do this with Money 2005? Why wouldn't they make it like Excel, where one build will open previous versions and, sometimes, newer versions? |
