"write check" tries to guess at what the check number will be and

I am using Money 2005 now after using 2000 for a few years. I found
additional payment methods are available such as Direct Debit. I wanted to
make sure I understand how this method is used.

In Money 2000 I could schedule my bills but, payments that are
automatically withdrawn from my account like car insurance would not be
entered into the register until I chose to record the payment.

Is the Direct Debit the Money 2005 method of automating this entry or
will this send a payment request to my bank instead?

There is nothing in the help file or on the MS Support site that
describes this payment type. I appreciate any help you can provide.
