| I don't remember exactly the error message but the complaint was about not being able to convert the file because it was protected in some way. (I tried removing the password protection with Money 2004 but that didn't help). I have a spreadsheet that is kept up more or less in real time to keeps track of my tax projections. Up until the 15% change for dividends Money and my spread sheet were usually in the same ballpark, not anymore. The 2005 demo download also did something that prevented Tax Cut from finding the Money program (not the data at least that was what the error from taxcut implied). I had to install 2004, remove it completely install 2005 demo, remove it completely, and then install 2004 again before TaxCut could find the program. | I doubt it. I don't think there's any way to code the dividends differently so I bet the tax estimator neither knows nor cares. Why won't M05 trial open your M04 file? (BTW, that may not be a bad thing. M05 isn't exactly worth leaping to unless you Really, Really Want What Yodlee Has To Give. See http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.htm for why I say this.) BTW, "projected taxes in 2004 are way too high" is a good problem two have in several dimensions. | Does Money 2005 understand about qualified dividends being taxed at 15% (My projected taxes in 2004 are way to high because of this change). (I would try the download demo version myself to see but it won't use my 2004 .mny file grrrr.) Thanks, Michael |
