Default Re: Cleared or reconciled

Cleared = the bank has seen it. Reconciled = will be included in the next
beginning balance when you go to balance the account. Cleared is an
intermediate state between nothing and reconciled. If you postpone
completing balancing in the middle, the transactions you have marked as
cleared will remain so until you next resume.

Default Cleared or reconciled

Within the account, what is the difference between a cleared and a reconciled
account entry? I know that when I balance my bank account the entries go to
reconciled but do I need to change them to cleared at some point?
