| If you didn't like M04 for this reason, I'd suggest you not even ponder M05. | I do this on my PC. Have and like the look and feel of M2001 and I did buy M2004 (to see if better reports etc) I do NOT like the look of M2004 - my screen has stuff I do not care to see . I prefer to see more of MY data than unused fields. I have a C:\Program Files\M2001 and a C:\Program Files\M2004 folder I first exported from data 2001 to a backup file in the M2004 folder. I then imported the file into M2004 (so at that point they both had the same data) I download my info , so I open each and update once a month - each separately. From one of my banks websites, I do logon and display my history and then EXPORT data as OFC - Money 2001 recognizes that and wakes up to import. I then EXPORT as QFX file and save to my desktop . When I open M2004 , I then import that file - I select which account it is (money market , checking, charge card ) - and it loads right up. Works great. That works well. They must be installed into different folders. They> purchased a newer version and wish to install it on a computer that does not > have Money installed, but would like to still use it on the machine that > already has it installed, what problems would I likely run into? Old version > is Money 2000, new version is Money 2005. can not be open a the same time. The latest-installed will have the associations to field files based on the file type (e.g., click or download a .qif file). I would suggest you make a copy of your Money 2000 file (name it something like Fred2005.mny) and let Money convert the copy. Each version maintains its own MRU (Most Recently Used) list of files. If you want to restore a backup, use File-> Restore within the particular version of Money. Make sure you set each version to backup to a different filename. |

| Is there a problem with using multiple versions of Money? If I have purchased a newer version and wish to install it on a computer that does not have Money installed, but would like to still use it on the machine that already has it installed, what problems would I likely run into? Old version is Money 2000, new version is Money 2005. Many thanks if you can help! |
