Money 2001 says incompatible version

Maybe I don't understand your problem.

You said:

- you exported the file to QIF to make it compatible with other operating
systems such as Win98 and WinXP Home. (I'm not sure what converting to QIF
has to do with the version of the operating system. Plus now you say you
can't export to QIF since you can't open the file.)

- the file was not opening in any O/S after reinstalling (the exact same
version and localization of) Money.

So, nothing changed in your environment, including region settings, and one
day you tried to open a previously working Money file in an unmodified
version of Money and it reported "incompatible version"?

If I understand your issue correctly, I have no clue what your issues is or
how to solve it. This message has generally been reported by people trying
to upgrade a data file to a new version--and different localization--of
Money, or trying to move the data file to a different machine with a
different installation--of a different localization--of Money.

If you were talking M05, I might suspect that your reinstallation is lacking
Internet Updates the previous installation had.

But I cannot open the file .mny . Then how can I export the accounts to QIF
format.

Hi

I am using money 2001 std and have a full version. i created a money file
which was not opening in other machines. i coverted the money file to qif to
make it compatible with other o/s like w98 and xp home.

my problem is a file has got locked i.e it is not opening in any of the o/s
even after reinstalling money. the date formats are all same in 3 o/s . how
to get the datas in the *.mny file. it is giving file was prepared by
incompabile version. but i actually created in the same version

pls help
