| Thank you all for your advice. I received by email last night from Microsoft the outlined procedure to uninstall Money 2005 and reinstall Money 2002. The procedure would be the same to go grom Money 2005 to any other year, just change the M10 to the corresponding year's Money file code. Here is the procedure for you and perhaps others who will want to revert to an earlier edition. First, let's copy the .M10 file to a safe folder such as "My Document". Though removing Money 2005 will not affect the data file s, we still need to ensure the file is stored safely since it is the only file that Money 2002 can read. To doing so, please follow the steps below: Step 1: Save the .M10 file =================== 1. Please locate the .M10 file. If you cannot find it, please perform a search for it. 2. Right-click the file and click "Copy". 3. Please go to "My Document", click "Edit" on the menu and click "Paste". After we copy the Money 2002 file to "My Document", let's remove Money 2005 by performing the following steps: Step 2: Remove Money 2005 ===================== 1. Please click "Start" and click "Control Panel". 2. Double-click "Add or Remove Programs". 3. The "Add or Remove Programs" window will show. Please scroll down the list to find "Microsoft Money 2005". Then, please high-light it. 4. Click the "Change/Remove" button. 5. Click "Yes" to confirm the operation. Please wait for the un-installation completed. Then, please insert the Money 2002 CD and install it. By default, there is no special setting we need to adjust. The installer will help us to do the rest. After Money 2002 is installed completely, please go to "My Document" and rename the .M10 file to .MNY. Double-click the file, Money 2002 will be launched and the file should be read correctly. There is a Knowledge Base article describes the similar situation: How to revert to an earlier version of Money after you convert your data file to Money 98 or a later version: http://support.microsoft.com/default...B;EN-US;178465 |

| When you upgraded to M2005 it made a backup of your M2002 file. You need to reinstall M2002 and rename the *.m10 (if my maths are right) as *.mny. Then the killer - you have to reinput all transactions since you moved to M2005. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny.
