| I have downloaded the new money file for the ppc also. It installs on the ppc but I can't get it to sync showing my records on the ppc. Any suggestions? | I got my installation working. I deleted the Temp folders on my computer to make sure the Windows Installer was not have problems with older files. The locations include: %sysdrive%\Temp %sysdrive%\%windir%\Temp %profiles%\Local Settings\Temp Not all files could be deleted because in use or protected but did not seem to be related to Money. You can check to make sure that Money for PPC (2004, 2005, etc) was not installed on your desktop (Control Panel-> Add/Remove Progams). Also make sure no related processes are currently running or hung up in task manager. If not sure just reboot the desktop at this point. Open Task Manager (right click on Task Toolbar-> Task Manager) as you will need to see what processes start. Now I connected the PPC to computer, then run the setup.exe from Money/Money for Pocket PC. At this point I saw that there were 2 processes that seem to relate to the install: setup.exe & Setup.exe. I selected the lower case setup.exe process and then clicked End Process to kill it. The install then began to run. The first time I ran this my current Money profile on desktop did not load to the PPC. So I started all over again and opened Money on my desktop before running the PPC setup.exe and everything worked out. Not sure if that was problem but worked in my case. | I too have the same problem but with Money 2004 and an Axim X3i. Here are the steps I have taken to date... I have Money 2004 on my desktop and would like to install Money 2004 for PPC on my Axim X3i PPC. I have the latest version of ActiveSync 3.8 but the installation does not work. I insert my PPC into the docking cradle and synchronization works fine so I know it is not a connection issue. I then run the setup.exe from the Microsoft Money/Money for Pocket PC directory. The hour glass appears for a few seconds and then nothing. I look in the task manager and the setup.exe process is there but 0% CPU but, a wcescomm.exe process runs at about 6 or 7%. I have stopped these processes and restarted my desktop along with a soft and even hard reset of my PPC, yet still the same problem.
