I had that occur to me. Luckily I discovered it before I add in any new
info.

Try opening Money with Start-> Run and entering
"msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box.

Default Re-install causes balance problem.

I have just re-installed Win XP and Money 2003.
Everything has worked out fine except for the following
peculiarity. My credit card balances are wrong in the
account window but correct in the main accounts window. I
have traced the error to the following incident.
On the 22 Dec 1999 a charge of $27.00 left a balance of
$1813.19. The next charge of $49.90 left a balance of
$3,602,879,703,759.49 and all subsequent charges and
payments are based on this new balance error. This was
not the case before my re-installation.

I don't think even Bill Gates could pay this amount.

Is there a database index error checking program that can
correct this?
