The easy answer is that you can't.

Doing so will probably be a problem, but here is what you can try. I
don't know if having a lot of transfers will make this harder.

Make extra copies of the file of file B. It is probably a good idea
to remove the passport, if any, from file B.

Open file A and File-> Export as loose QIF the accounts you want
transactions from.

I am wondering if it might be better to make a version of each QIF
without the CX line. I don't know. A way to do that is with a line
in a command window similar to the following:
type \test1.qif | find /V "CX" > test1a.qif

That would give test1a.qif which is a copy of test1.qif, but without
the CX lines. I could experiment, but so could you.

You might also experiment with removing transactions with a text
editor that are outside the date range you want to work with.

Anyway, you will need to open file B and File-> Import the QIF files
as a statement from your bank. And when you do so,it will try to
match the transactions to existing transactions. If you import as a
new or recovered account, you will get complete duplicates.

I don't know if there is any advantage to trying to import all QIFs
at once in this way or not. When doing new or recovered accounts it
lets transfers be recognized. That may work as a statement. I don't
know. Let us know what you learn.

And don't forget to make extra file copies at each stage, since you
are likely to do some things what did not work as you hoped.

thank you, one more question, I guess I did not make my self clear on my
goal. now that I can open both of my mny files, how do I combine them and
remove the duplicates? thanks I had one file on a laptop while on the road
and one on a desktop so I need to combine the data for this year for tax
time.

thanks in advance for your help

Copy that file to a different filename and/or folder. Then use
File-> Open in Money to open the file.
