I am pretty sure they won't be allowing OFC statements again.

I can give you numerous reasons why I uninstalled 2005 Deluxe and
reinstalled 2003 Deluxe.

MS should be ashamed for putting out unadulterated crap as 2005 Deluxe. I
didn't have the nightmare transition upgrade as most folks had/are having.
It worked like a charm by uninstalling 2003 and installing 2005.

The performance & features of 2005 Deluxe are absolutely miserable at best.
In fact due to the new download file type support from B of A, I lost most
of my "automated" features.

Buyer Beware!!!!

Do your own due diligence on M05. This is a good place to start. The results
of mine are at http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.htm.

Does anyone have any comments about upgrading to Money 2005 Deluxe from Money
2002 Deluxe? I am fairly content with M 02, and can still update stock prices
from the web. The asset allocation software in 02 leaves a lot to be
desired--deficient in preparing reports between small cap, large cap, etc.

Any comments about upgrading from 02 to 05?

Thanks.

Thanks for keeping people up to date with all that info. It's really
helpful.

Bill probably doesn't appreciate it, though. But maybe he should hire you to
help them make a better product. I guess there's not enough money in it to
make it worthwhile. Like voters, consumers are often pretty thickheaded (ie,
stupid), going for whatever's cheapest regardless of quality. So if MS put a
lot of resources into making Money a truly superior product, the extra $25
it would have to cost would make everyone buy Quicken instead.

Too bad about that Yodlee or whatever it's called. I guess it probably works
most of the time, but it sounds like a real hack. The lower-level interface
that both MS and Intuit wanted to the banks to offer seems like it would
have been far superior. Not much MS or Intuit can do about it, other than
opening their own bank.

Yes, I have Deluxe. I've managed to work around most of the problems I've
encountered.

I switched from Quicken because Quicken does not handle stock option trades
(employee stock option plans yes, but not trading). But it seems that Money
and Quicken are both a little buggy and advertising-oriented.

I'd be happy to pay twice the price for a really good program, stable, no
errors, no BS. But there doesn't seem to be any option other than those two.

Actually, aside from a few problems, I have been relatively happy with Money
Deluxe 2003. Same for Quicken, really. I just wanted to know whether Money
2005 has significant improvements in it. From what I've heard so far, people
seem to dislike it.

No, it was a serious question.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm using Money Deluxe 2003.
Upgrade price with rebate is $40 + tax and shipping. Upgrade to Premium,
which I'm also considering, is $50 + tax and shipping. Not including waiting
eight weeks for the rebate.

What problems are you experiencing?

I assume that it is the Delux version of 2003 or you are now not able to
perform downloads of data from the web.

Now if you think Money 2005 is not cheap, I would ask you to please define
cheap. In the USA we can get the product for a net cost of about $25. Steve

I'm considering the same question. Microsoft has a 90 trial version of 2005
that I've been using to try and answer that question myself. So far I do not
see a reason to upgrade but I'm using 2004. Also, currently CompUSA has 2005
Deluxe for free after mail in rebate when buying taxcut software for $19.95.

Default upgrade or not?

Is there a compelling reason to upgrade from Money 2003? It's not a cheap
upgrade.
