| Your paycheck can be set up with the taxible and non-taxible portions during the entry. I have been doing this since early versions of Money (97) and have continued it into Money 05. Since I set this up prior to the developement of the paycheck wizzard I have not looked at how to do it in the wizzard. I simply have two funding sources in the split of the pay check. I end up at the end of the year with Money calculating providing the split of everything that shows up on the W-2 from the employer. Thus the tax estimator provides a very accurate gross income. This enables the correct hanling of all of my pre-tax deductions (medical insurance, HCAP, etc) Art Larry wrote: - quote - > In Money 2005, I have my recurring paycheck setup to transfer my 401 > (k) deduction to another account. | My final numbers did not make sense. However, the problem was not the 401(k) deduction, but my local taxes not being deducted. Sorry for the confusion. | In prior versions--I haven't debugged M05's tax estimator--the tax estimator subtracts whatever is on the Before Tax tab of paychecks from what's on the first line of the Wages tab of all of your paychecks. Where are you putting the Transfer? | In Money 2005, I have my recurring paycheck setup to transfer my 401 (k) deduction to another account. There does not seem to be a way to tell Money that this is a 401(k) deduction, so the tax estimator shows the wrong amount for gross income. Is there a solution to this other than manually entering a number in the tax estimator? |
