Cal, Thanks for working on this issue. Yes, there might be something> or two into a reply. There may be something other than the > apostrophe going on. wrong with my site. But in any case, my conversion utility is finished. If anyone wants it, I'll send the source code (it is written in ANSI C). I'm calling it qifq2m. -- David Arnstein arnstein+usenet[at]pobox.com |

I created a test file which I described below. I imported it as a> I find that Quicken 2005 and Microsoft Money 2005 use slightly different > QIF files. The following were the results in Money 2005, sorted by the interpreted date. The Num in QIF is both the sequence number in the QIF and the check number field of the QIF. They were not exactly what I had anticipated, but they were all accepted: Num in QIF Interpreted Date Year in QIF 7 01/15/1951 Date Specified: /1951 4 01/15/98 Date Specified: /98 5 01/15/98 Date Specified: '98 1 01/15/00 Date Specified: '00 8 01/15/33 Date Specified: '33 2 01/15/50 Date Specified: /50 3 01/15/50 Date Specified: '50 6 01/15/51 Date Specified: /2051 You might want to paste the header and a sample problem transaction or two into a reply. | I use QIF files to transfer data from Quicken to Money. I find that Quicken 2005 and Microsoft Money 2005 use slightly different QIF files. In particular, Quicken writes dates in its QIF files that feature apostrophes (') in the "year" field. Money does not use apostrophes. The odd thing is that Money was successfully reading the QIF files generated by Quicken. Sometime around January 1, things stopped working. I can import a QIF file from Quicken into Money, but Money won't assign dates to any of the imported transactions. I plan to write a translation program to modify QIF files. I would like to know if anyone else has seen this problem. Also, has anyone else found a QIF file conversion program. I'd rather use an existing program than write one myself. -- David Arnstein arnstein+usenet[at]pobox.com |
