| The problem is not Transfer. The problem is that the downloaded account data isn't smart enough to know squat about Transfer. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=147. Since downloaded account data needs so much modification to be truly useful, a few of us just skip the download step and enter the data by hand, right, the first time. | Hi, I just started using Money 2005 and successfully downloaded all of my bank accounts from my online banking into the software, pretty slick... except for one problem: I have a Checking account and a line of credit (which Money recommended I open as a credit card account so I did). All the transfers from my checking account to my line of credit are showing as "Unassigned" expenses and then the same transaction againn as "Unassigned" other income. It's picking up the same transaction twice, once on the checking account as an expense, and then again on the line of credit as income. I tried changing the category of the transactions as "Special: Transfer to xxx account", but that creates a duplicate transaction on the other account! For example, if I pay $600 to my line of credit on Dec 26th and download the statements from the bank, the transaction shows on both accounts, as a debit on one and a credit on the other, as it should. If I go in to my checking account and update the transaction category as a transfer to my line of credit, it creates a 2nd credit transaction for $600 on my line of credit for Dec 26th which throws all the balances off. Same thing happens when I try updating the transaction from the line of credit. This is very very frustrating to say the least because Money keeps complaining that I have $26,000 in unassigned expenses and it throws all the pie charts on the home page way off. Can anyone help? I'm sure I must be missing something here. Darryl |
