You do not have to upload your financial data as long as you do not get
involved with any of the Yodlee garbage. However, this does mean that you
will not be able to directly download statements from banks that don't
support direct statements (you can manually download them though). Meaning
if you couldn't use direct statements in MM2003 you still can't in MM2005
and otherwise everything else is the same.

Oh, come on! There's nothing bad about uploading your financial data to
Microsoft and its buddies. Certainly you don't have anything to hide from
the federal government and all of its spy agencies, do you?

Default 401k Manager

Several "features" of the Money 2003 Standard product I've been using have
expired. In particular the stock updates to track my 401k account.

I'm looking at the web sites and it appears that the "401k Manager" is now
only available in the Deluxe and higher versions. Do I understand that I
cannot upgrade to the Standard edition and still have the same basic
functionality?

I'm debating not upgrading anyway and can update quotes manually. I don't
like the idea of putting any more financial information on a web service than
necessary and it appears 2005 wants to do so no matter what. Do I
misunderstand this?
