| There are reports that some people have got limited functionality out of Pocket Money under WM5 but it seems to be rather hit and miss - no-one's ever managed to say HOW they got it to work, it just did. I think the deletions not working are one of the effects previously reported. It's now well documented that MS certainly don't intend to make a PPC compatible 2007 version, nor do they intend to update any earlier version to work fully with WM5. People will just have to make their own minds up how important they think this is in their purchasing decision. SPB Finance or Inesoft Cash Organiser are now the only PPC software options (though neither support 2007 yet) with Ultrasoft Money offering the same facilities for PalmOS (though, again, no 2007 yet). Well either my computer is really stupid or I'm just smart, it hasbeen syncing with Money ever since I upgraded. I found the reason it stopped, the Money file itself was slightly corrupted, after several repairs, several renames and a lot of cursing, it has started syncing again. It even appears on the Today screen like its supposed to. Something interesting, it has never allowed me to delete from the PPC, only from the program, I can make transactions but I can't delete them, all other functions work. If Microsoft never intends to make 2007 compatible with WM 5.0 in the PPC then people will be reluctant to upgrade, instead going with something that does support it. Right now I am considering 2006 but if you are saying it will not work... well who knows. Ears |

| I am having the same problem, and it is all of a sudden. I have MS Money 2005, and I have a Dell Axim X51v. Syncing was working fine for weeks and weeks. Then I upgraded to the later ROM of the Axim, syncing still works... then all of a sudden when I had made no changes Money Syncing suddenly stops working. Money is installed in the Main memory (default location), I have run several repairs on my money file and I have tried re-naming the money file so it will prompt me. The Settings button is greyed out and I have removed and re-installed Money on both the Pocket PC and the Desktop. I even tried getting the 2007 trial until I saw the articles that said Pocket PC is no longer supported, I would love for someone to explain the wisdom of that choice to me. Right now I am considering upgrading to 2006 which I know is supported. It just seems a waste to upgrade so late in the year when a new one is coming out. Since I have Windows Mobile 5.0 does anyone know if there is a compatible Finance program or am I just going to have to switch completely. That and there is one function that Quicken had at one time that Money never did, the ability to scan high-dollar reciepts and attach it to transactions. Any suggestions? Anyone? | There seem to have been a few messages on here regarding sync problems - has anyone actually got Money 2005 to sync?! I have tried everything with mine and am getting really frustrated. Latest attempt - have just hard reset to wipe my IPAQ *completely* clean and uninstalled Money 2005 from my PC. I reinstalled Money on the PC, set up a very basic data file (one bank account) and reinstalled pocket money on my IPAQ. Everything was installed in the default locations when prompted. Guess what? Still doesn't sync!!! All I get is an "Attention Required" message in the ActiveSync window. Can anyone help me? Surely this is some sort of bug - with the exception of reinstalling Windows on my PC I don't know what else to try. Setup is Windows ME, ActiveSync 3.7.1, Money 2005, IPAQ2210. | Try some of these - first take a safe copy of your money file.... a) run a repair on the Money file. b) Change the name of the Money file to get ActiveSync to prompt you for it c) Disconnect the PPC, wipe out Money databases on it and then reconnect and try again -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny or http://money.mvps.org/faq for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. | Thank you for the advice. I appreciate the time you took. Unfortunately, the program was already installed in the default location (the "main memory" as it's called by ActiveSync). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times without any change in the result. Guess I'll just have to keep at it. Thank you again. | Where is it installed. Make sure money is installed in the default location. If you install it anywhere else (SD card, CF Card, IpaqFileStore etc) it will not sync and the options (settings, sync check box will gray out) I spent several hours working on this last night. Hope it helps. | If the "Settings..." option is not there then something definetly is wrong. Are you sure you downloaded the 2005 version of Pocket Money? If so, try de-installing and try again. | I recently downloaded Pocket Money 2005 in order to sync my Money 2005 (run on an IBM laptop)with my Pocket PC, but so far I have not found a way to make it work. My situation is as follows: - I am using Active Sync version 3.7 and my Pocket PC functions on Windows Pocket PC 2003 (meeting the stated requirements). - Pocket Money successfully installs on the Pocket PC itself, but none of the accounts or information actually appear on the device. - I have checked off the "Microsoft Money Data" option in Active Sync. - The settings menu is NOT available for "Microsoft Money Data" so I cannot change any related options. - When I do attempt to sync the device with my laptop it only results in unresolved items. - When I attempt to resolve the items I recieve a message that says "One or more information types cannot be synchronized. Disconnect and reconnect your device." - When I disconnect and then reconnect my device, I receive the same message. If anyone has any thoughts on how I can fix this problem I would very much appreciate your advice. Thank you. |
