Let Money 2005 create a new Money file, clicking Decline in the
process. It will do an update so that Help-> About... says you
then have version 14.0.*.1105.

Then you should be able to open or restore your existing files.

Default RE: Money 2001 Restore error

I can't help, but I have a similar problem. I reinstalled XPPro and Money
2002 and it refuses to open a file stating 'incorrect password'. I tried one
of the suggestions posted elsewhere i.e. I installed Money 2005, created a
dummy file and then tried to open my datafile but got the message 'not a
money file'. It seems Money being reinstalled and refusing to open previous
files is a common problem. We are just 2 of many looking for a solution. If I
find one I will post it for you.

Default Money 2001 Restore error

Reformatted hard drive and when I went to restore my back up I got an error
message of ".mbf file is corrupted or not a Money backup file." Before the
reformat this file worked. I checked 2 previous backups and get the same
message. Money program is still the same as was on the computer before
reformat. Any ideas?
