 Re: Money 2005 can't open my 2004 file Well, the fact that you can still open your MM04 file in MM04 proves that it hasn't been converted yet. In my case the file was successfully converted and then MM05 thought it needed to be converted again. I don't think I can help you any further because you have already gone over the steps I would have taken. Have you tried calling customer support? I check my mny file is a not read-only file. I even copy both sample and my 04 file into same directory to maker sure the folder are not read-only. When try to convert my 04 file, I still get the same error msg " Money cannot locate '.......mny' or cannot open it, possibly because it is read-only file or you do not have permission to change it or your disk drive is write protected.' I did uninstalled and reinstall the 05. Tried to open a new file, setup new account. No problem until I tried reopen my 04 money file. Same msg. When I reinstalled MM 2005 and tried to open my file the program said it had to convert it (even though it already was). The solution was for me to create a new file first, then go back to my working file. I hope that made sense.
