F2K,

It all depends on how you get the shares. If you use new money, its a
buy. If the fund has a distribution, it could be a reinvestment of
either dividends, short-term gains, or long-term gains.

The only time add shares is typically used is if you don't have all the
data on one or more transactions but want to have your positions
reflected accurately. Otherwise, use the buy or reinvestment for best
performance tracking.

Default tracking mut. fund

I have a few mutual funds that I track with money 2003. I keep getting more
"shares" as time goes on and wanted to know what they should be entered as so
that I can track the performance ? ie: add shares, buy, dividends.... Thanks
