| This is a common problem for a lot of people, and a big frustration. Here is one good thread (subject: budget/bills issues in 2005): http://support.microsoft.com/newsgro...xp=&sloc=en-US I think that the underlying database in Money resets the history of payments when you change a payee or a bill payment. For example, all I did was add address information for a bill and the history of that category, eventhough that wasn't changed, was lost in the budget so from that date forward the money from that bill was no longer in my budget... it just came up as zero. When I went back and deleted that bill from my budget, then re-added it it then came back in my budget. Afterwards I had to do some cleaning up since it was mid-month when I did this and it was a weekly bill. Argh the pain! And this was just one category! | I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by budget items being doubled or tripped. Do you have some items that are paid more than once a month or are on an unusual payment schedule? As far as my budgeted items go I checked and I don't have anything listed twice. | It seems to be part of the budget problem where bills or income is multiplied by a certain amount. A particular category that showed as double next month in my budget was correct when I deleted the double entry in my Budget Summary. Maybe these "hidden" problems show up when sorted on Payee. Richard, do you have the same issues with budget items being doubled or tripped? I'm wondering if this is a hidden fix. Problem is I'm spending too much time to try to make Budget work when it's obviously broken. | I've tried this in Money 2005 and I am not able to repro your problem. Sorry. | Interesting that when my "Bill Summary" is sorted by "Next Due" date things look okay (as okay as it can ever be). But when I sort by "Payee" some bills are duplicated. Some have the same date, some have different dates. Can anyone else verify this strange behavior? And when is the class-action suit going to start (*grin*)? Graham |
