Look in your "Program Files" directory for a directory with "Money"> I back it up and where would I back it up to? in the name. Your favorite technique for copying, such as using Windows Explorer. A different spot on your hard drive and/or copy it to a CDR with your favorite CDR software. You may not need the files, but you may find that the new install does not get updated files, and that you might choose to overwrite them with newer files that you saved after install. I am not recommending that you install. I am saying I would copy those files beforehand if you do. - quote - > When I go to the registry do I just change the

When I go to the registry do I just change the "AVHelpPath"="E:\MONEY\avhelp" to "AVHelpPath"="D:\MONEY\avhelp" (D:\ drive is where I store my Documents and Money Files) Thanks Dermot "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news p3es05afrbhjlura5hb373vop19kbdcsn[at]4ax.com...- quote - > In microsoft.public.money, singapore tom wrote: > > Money 2000 > > 1/ When I am editing a transaction fro the editing box out of a report > > "Money" freezes at each step. I don't know. If you try that, I would back up System directory of> 1/ When I am editing a transaction fro the editing box out of a report > "Money" freezes at each step. Do I need to reinstall it and if I do how > should I do that with the least disruption. the Money install folder beforehand in case. You might try excluding all accounts from the budget if you do not use the budget, but I don't have reason to believe that is going to solve things for you. - quote - > 2/ It has recently kept asking me for disc in my CD drive at start up. In the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Money\8.0,> never used to and the problem mentioned above happened at the same time. you probably have something such as "AVHelpPath"="E:\MONEY\avhelp" or whatever. So the AVHelpPath probably refers to your CD drive. If you are adept at editing the registry, you can change the reference to refer to your hard drive rather than your CD drive. If you are not adept at that, find a friend who is. The path need not actually exist on the hard drive. - quote - > 3/ I back up all my documents weekly to an external hard drive including
In Tools-> Options-> Backup> Money files. Is there anyway I can stop it asking me every time I switch > accounts where I want it saved to? you could clear either of these: x Automatically backup to hard disk on exit x Prompt me before backing up each time .... but I would not recommend doing so. I like to change the backup file periodically so that I have more than one vintage of backup, and I do not continually overwrite my backup file. |

| Money 2000 1/ When I am editing a transaction fro the editing box out of a report "Money" freezes at each step. Do I need to reinstall it and if I do how should I do that with the least disruption. 2/ It has recently kept asking me for disc in my CD drive at start up. It never used to and the problem mentioned above happened at the same time. 3/ I back up all my documents weekly to an external hard drive including Money files. Is there anyway I can stop it asking me every time I switch accounts where I want it saved to? Thank you Dermot |
