| Thanx for your prompt response. The .mny file from yesterday no longer exists, I looked all over the drive for it. Anyhow, I tried to resync from on-line, but it doesn't do it, it only syncs quotes news and exchange rates, but the section that says: MSN Money Syncronization remains unchecked. How can one force this to sync?? "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Dick Watson wrote: > > You need to go looking for a .MNY file you stored yesterday. Then open the converted file and add the SAME Passport you have on the MSN Money account with File-> PasswordManager. Money should then be able to combine the information. If you leave the Passport on that Money file, the changes you make should be reflected both in your local Money file and in MSN Money. Consider your backup strategy. That is always a good idea, but it seems especially good to keep extra backups while you are treading new ground. |

| You need to go looking for a .MNY file you stored yesterday. Try the File menu to see if it's one of the recently used files down at the bottom. IF you are going to convert a Quicken file, I think you need to do this FIRST. I think importing the Q file forced it to create a new file. This is a guess on my part--hopefully somebody who knows can confirm/deny. It will probably every day you try to convert a Q file. I've used the same file for more than a decade. M opens the last file you used it with. Or, you can go seek a specific file in Windows file Explorer and R-click open it. Or you can use Money's File menu to open the file of your choice. | I downloaded the trial version yesterday and spent several hours inputting information. This morning I opened up the software, and it started from the beginning, converting my old Quicken Info, etc.. I renamed the qdata file to qdatajj, thinking that it would still have my file from yesterday, but it did not. Somehow it lost all my data, and since the backup didn't work yesterday, it seems I am dead in the water. Interestingly enough, on-line in msn money, it has my information from yesterday. Is there a way to sync the info from on-line back to the local version of money. If not, what is wrong with this trial version that it starts from the beggining like that. Will it do that every day?????????? Thanks in advance for any help!! -- ken Expand AllCollapse All -- ken |
