| Unlike most other things about M05, that's easily undone--even though you shouldn't have to. Yes, I'm currently on Money 2005 Deluxe. I didn't jump right in when the product came out as I was following this newsgroup as I always do. I have lots of respect for Dick Watson and he was saying it wasn't worth upgrading. Since I do manual entry for all my bank and credit card entries I decided to try it after about 3 weeks after it hit the stores. I WAS prepared to go back to my Money 2004 Deluxe if I ran into problems, but I did not. Sure, the new groceries and dining out categories instead of sub categories under Food bothered me. Also, the floppy backup issue bothered me. But I worked thru them. I got a flash drive to replace my floppy for external backup. Lots faster and much more capacity. I'm living with NOT changing the grocery and dining out categories back for now. I'll see how Money 2006 handles them. I believe that if I relied on uploads and downloads or syching for two or more computers I would NOT have upgraded based on what I've read. At this point the only significant change, and it really is a positive for me, is that I can check my investments at anytime during the day and see the update. Same for net worth, etc. In Money 2004 I would download the stock data every Friday night knowing the during the week numbers were slightly off. I DO have cable DSL so I have speed and again, SO FAR, after a couple of months, I'm happy with the product. I understand that cash flow reporting was dropped from Money 2005 standard. Since I have always used Money deluxe that was not an issue for me. Cash flow, Lifetime planner, investments, budget to some extent where usable, even tax planning are all useful features for me. I account for ALL my money every month so I have some great history to work with. Hope this helps. Steve |

| Steve, Are you currently using M2005, and if so, can you tell me why you upgraded? I've read many problems here on M2005 and also loss of some features in previous versions. Thanks Frank |

| Have you looked at http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;313373 Note: In Money 2004 (and 2005), the repair option is under the File menu: File - Repair Money File - Quick File Repair. -Mark "carlen hall" <carlen hall[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:54CF3FF2-4640-46A0-B394-402B68920D7C[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Frank, > since you have the money 2004 maybe you can tell me how to use the print > option for accounts already in place. And does the expenditure of $25 a year or even $100 a year really make much difference? And realistically, aside from Microsoft Money and Quicken, does ANY other personal financial software package come ANYWHERE close to providing the information you need? Some people get a "kick" out of uploading and downloading data from financial institutions automatically rather than taking a few minutes to put the data in manually. The fact that the technology doesn't currently allow for the software to "present" the information in the exact format they would like causes these people to spend hours trying to "fix it". Money has much value to those of us who use it to better control our finances. It requires a good general understanding of finances in order to work effectively. Money 2005 is NOT the answer if you use uploads and downloads as your basis for inputting data into Money. It can be OK if you use it within the capabilities of the technology it has currently reached. Good luck. Steve |

| Frank, since you have the money 2004 maybe you can tell me how to use the print option for accounts already in place. I am trying to help someone over the phone and I have never used the money program. they can get one store's bills and payroll done but store two is not working. It says that it did not find any checks to print but they are inputing the info. My email is snooziedog[at]aol.com. I need to call them back in the morning so if you can give some suggestions. | Hello, I decided after trying M2005 and Q2005 to use Money 2004 as my primary finance software. I might upgrade to M2005 if microsoft offered a reduced price. I can't see paying for buggy software. I also purchased AceMoney because of the lifetime upgrades. It is a little weak in some areas, but I will wait to see how it evolves. Regards, Frank |
