| I am so glad to see that I am not the only one having this problem. I tried everything from the 838713 except the QIF solution so I'll go back and try that. I'll let you know how it went in a couple of days. "Dennis" wrote: - quote - > You are correct. > The reason that you did not see them was due to the 2005 date. | You are correct. The reason that you did not see them was due to the 2005 date. Why they had a 2005 date is a wonderment. Dennis "Howard" wrote: - quote - > To be clear, I fixed the problem. | To be clear, I fixed the problem. As I said above it appears that MS Money created 8 transactions all with dates in 2005 of some of my existing Bills and Deposits transactions. If I viewed the account details, they were not visible even if I chose to to view all. I found them if I exported the register to a QIF file. They were clearly there in the QIF file. I was then able to find them in Money if I did a view Payee from my Bills and Deposits screen of offending transactions. So it was: 1) pretty odd that MS Money created them 2) did not display them in the register 3) did export them 4) only let me mark them void (which gave them a 0 amount). Once I marked the eight void, my balance in the check register matched the balance on the account list...as it should. An example of what I could see in the exported data is below. ^ D1/14'2005 T-50.00 PFirst District Water Department LBills:Water I suspect that on 1/1/2005 I suddenly will see these transactions as voided in the register. We will see. I am not inspired enough to change my system clock. |

| Howard, Detail transactions do not reflect the Opening Balance that you may have set in "Account Settings." Got to Banking> Accounts List, then right-click on the account in question. Select Account Settings; scroll down to Opening Balance. Make a note and see if this is the difference. | Recently MS Money 2004 seems to have flaked and executed some Bills and Deposits for 2005 and caused my account balance on the account list to not be correct. If I view the account the balance was also incorrect if I only viewed unreconciled transactions. After reading http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838713 Methods 1 and 2 did not fix the problem. I then exported the information into a loose QIF file and read it. It appears eight transcations were automatically executed for their next dates in 2005. They did not show up in the account but I could see them if I chose "Go to Payee:" from the Bills and Deposits screens. I could then void each of the transactions so their amounts would be zero. Just curious if anyone else experienced this. I have been using Money for about a year. MS does not really explain why it occurs. |
