I would suggest you set up a new administrative user. Open Money,
letting it create a new empty Money file in the process. Since the
new user will be set up with default settings, the updating is
likely to proceed.

Then return to your regular user. You can delete the new user.

What OS are you using?

having the same problem. can't seem to get the upgrades to quit upgrading.
everytime i start money, the same upgrades start over again. i let it
continue to upgrade, wating for it to end, but it's been 3 days!!!! anyone
out there that can help with this?

The problem I'm having with the 2005 Standard version is the updates. With
2002, all the account updates, quotes, and Money updates would complete in
less than 1 minute with a cable modem connection. Now, with money 2005, the
Account Information updates normally, but it stays on "Updating Quotes &
Other Web Info" for over 5-10 minutes! And then my accounts won't display

Just a side note:
It was annoying enough to feel *-forced-* to buy the new version, but then
finding out all the issues with the 2005 version is certainly no help either.
Judging from the long lists of issues and problems with this version, it
really looks like MS dropped the ball on this one -- maybe rushed to release
it?
