If you are starting a new topic, it would be better to make a new
thread. If you are continuing with the topic as a background, it
would be better to follow on to the thread.

In the portfolio, you can configure in various columns. Most of the
"return" numbers include dividends in the return amounts.

You can experiment with that to see the effect. In an investment
"Watch" (pretend) account, you could do a buy of 100 shares of a
fund at $10, and date the Buy a year ago.

Then add a $100 dividend. If you configure the portfolio view to
include Watch accounts, you can see the return results. You can also
SeeADifferentView-> CustomizeCurrentView-> PortfolioColumns. Select
an item in the Available or Displayed Columns, and a description of
the item will be shown. You can select an Available item and click
Add. You can SaveAs to have your modified portfolio view available
to you with a name of your choosing.

2 questions:
1) It's been some time since I visited this board, I see there has been a
change in asking follow up questions. How do I do that? Do I have to create a
new thread?

2) With respect to my original question about "returns", my securities with
the dividends are on dividend reinvestment and the dividends are being
entered automaticall (I believe) when I download from the broker. Does the
"return" calculation include both the dividends and the difference between
cost basis and market value?

Enter a Dividend transaction into the Investment Transactions
register for that fund.

Using Money 2004 Deluxe
how can I "capture" the income
(dividends on fixed income type mutual funds) in order
to have them included in the investment returns
calculated in the Portfolio feature? The
income is properly recorded in the account section,
but I am not certain if it is then automatically
included in the return on investment section.
