| Steven, Ever heard of archiving? I would suggest to do this on an annual basis. Keeping any database open that contains years of data you are just asking for problems. If your file gets corrupted wouldn't you rather have just the current years information damaged and not "all" of your information? I never said to "dump" your old information, I said to do a "clean install" and not to "convert your old files". There is a way around every roadblock, one just needs to look, and then look again! | If one has to dump all of their historical data for Microsoft Money 2005 to "work", then the user simply has no need for any type of accounting program to begin with! Frankly, the federal goverment should REQUIRE Microsoft to use Microsoft Money 2005 for its own accounting purposes. Bet Microsoft would fix this garbage software program, or use a competitor's program. ![]() |

| After 3 months of a hellish conversion and install, changing to Quicken 2005 I finally decided to do a clean install and NOT convert and old M04 files. To my amazement, not really, everything on this software now works wonderfully. I can synch with 3 different banks with 8 accounts between them. I can synch with 10 credit card and debit card accounts. Everything runs more quickly than 2004 did which is a real shock as with before I could go make a Late' while the software was thinking what is was supposed to be doing. M04 worked ok until MS did an "upgrade" on their MSN servers which caused deposits to register as withdrawls and withdrawls as deposits. Unfortunately I cannot use any information in Money for year end tax stuff as I had to start a new file. The old one is still there but when I try and open it the old problemd come back. One of these days MS will get it together as well as Intuit does with their tax stuff. MS last release fo tax software was a complete BOMB! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU, IT LOOKS AS IF THE BEST WAY FOR THIS SOFTWARE TO WORK IS TO NOT CONVERT OLD FILES AND DO A CLEAN INSTALL. |
