Thanks. They sure don't make it obvious. They make such a point of
tracking categories on the main money page, yet only let you set up 3 there,
but if you go to where you used to in 2004 you can set up as many as you
want. Curious that they don't link the two or put in a comment or
something.

You can still see all the thermometers you want. Go to Alerts Center, then
Customize your Advisor FYI alerts, then the Monthly Spending tab. You can
cycle thru the categories you want to see thermometers for, setting the Show
Thermometer on Money Home Page settings for each. Then make sure you have
Favorite Categories as a content item by customizing your Money Home Page
settings.

I discovered that as well. There is probably a registry key available to
fix that one as well. Reason...I have four displays on my homepage and it
is because when I upgraded from 2004 I had that display active and it took
the settings.

Which if I'm not mistaken only allow 3 categories whereas in 2004 and before
you could track as many categories as you wanted in the spending limits.
This is progress?

It's still available. From your homepage view, click on "Customize Content"
in the top right part of the screen. Add the module for "Favorite
Categories".

Default Money 2005 - Account Register and Monthly Spending

I have been using 2002 very happily now but my file was getting too big and
the program was getting painfully slow. The archive function would corrupt
all my data so I made the unfortunate mistake of upgrading to 2005 before I
read this forum. Anyway, my question is this. In 2002 under account
registers, as you would spend, it that particular spending category was in
the budget, it would show a spending thermometer for that category. I found
this very useful to indicate at a glance where I was at for the particular
spending category for the month. I can't seem to figure out how to get it
back (if it hasn't been removed in this version for some stupid reason).
Could someone please either confirm my fears or tell me how to do this as it
is driving me insane!!!
