| You don't need to create a new file - you can use the sample.mny file that gets created when you install Money. Just double click on the filename and M2005 will load and kick off the download. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | Here's what my friend said... You’ll need to assure that your new computer has the opportunity to get the latest update before you can open the file that has already been converted to the latest update file format. To do this, you’ll need to create a new file on the new machine (use the menus File-> new), just to give Money the opportunity to kick things off and start the download of the latest update. (You don’t need to use this new file indefinitely as you will open your existing file once the update is fully downloaded.) Make sure you are online. You can then exit Money as the download will happen in the background so long as you are online. It may take a while. You’ll know that you have the latest update in 2 ways: when you again open Money, it’ll convert the newly created file. When you go to Help-> About, you’ll see the version: 14.0.120.1105 (or at least ending with 1105). "Matt" wrote: - quote - > I have this same problem. | I have this same problem. I haven’t checked my version yet but in case I don’t have the latest update can I manually install it from someplace? Or maybe you create a dummy new file and let Money update itself. | Make sure that Money has been updated to the 1105 version (Help - About) before trying to open a Money 2005 file from a different computer that was already updated. -Mark "Daryl" <Daryl[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E9BADB8E-1ED0-485E-AB69-6C8AAF9A0C3A[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I upgraded to money 2005 from money 2004 on my computer. | I upgraded to money 2005 from money 2004 on my computer. I initially created a new money 2005 using a trial version on my work computer with no problems. I tried to move the file from my work computer to my house, and when I try to open the money 2005 file, I get prompted that the file is going to be upgraded, followed by the error that the file could not be found or opened. I installed the Money 2005 premium version on my work computer and the file opens fine. Could it be something did not get upgraded properly when I upgraded from 2005 to 2005 on my home computer? Thanks |
