| Are you identifying them as "mutual funds" or as "stocks"? Technically, they're the latter, but you then can't record earnings as interest, but only as dividends. This is a real problem if the fund holds tax-exempt bonds. -- Michael Gordon MVP "Darren" <DarrenAlman[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:86da6240.0411222122.686769a3[at]posting.google.com... - quote - > I'm using Money 2005. | I'm using Money 2005. I have some closed-end bond funds that are traded on the NYSE. For the purpose of correctly classifying them in my asset allocation, how can I get them to NOT be classified as mid-cap stocks? Also in the allocation, these should show up as "debt", not 100% "equity". I'm aware of the trick of creating a new investment with the right class, converting all of the existing transactions to the new investment, and then deleting the old investment. However, even as a "mutual fund" I cannot specify the correct asset allocation because the "100% bonds" that I enter in the investment details automatically gets reset by Money within a few seconds of hitting done. Which of the few available asset classes would actually work correctly? This shouldn't be so difficult. |
