| Why do you have to do anything in file B to export data from file A? When you have file A open, what does the export process know or care about your intent to import the data back into file B? You are trying to get data for account "xyz" in file B. File B does NOT already have an account "xyz." Yes, you need to export data from file A, account "xyz" to a QIF file. Call this file xyz account. Then in file B do the import. Money will need to create the "xyz" account in file B. If you don't create it, where will these transactions you are importing go? Which of these, if any, applies?: 1. You want to end up with one more account in file A than it had before? You want the information in the additional account in file A to be from an account in File B. 2. You want an existing account in File B to contain not only what it now contains, but to also contain transactions from an account in File B. - quote - > Is there any way to do this without exporting the account?
No, you will not be able to merge an account from File B withoutexporting that account from File B, but I suspect that is not the question that you mean 't to ask. |

| I am a Money 2004 user. I have to different files in Money 2004. I would like to copy and paste one account (with all the data and details) from one file to the other one. So far the only solution I see is the Export option, but I do have to create a new account when I follow the Export steps. Is there any way to do this without exporting the account? Thank you.
