| You make a good point about reconciling to an online balance without a statement. That works well for bank accounts and the program doesn't know the difference. To clarify my question, in quiicken, you can use online updates to download transactions and compare balances for all of your accounts (banking and investing). After accepting transactions, if your account balance in quicken differs from the up-to-date online balance, quicken notifies you. I find this to be helpful just to make sure I am not way off and not noticing it. I am sure Microsoft will get around to this functionality 10 years after intuit did it. The scary thing is that the info is all there; the program just isn't doing anything with the info. I am going to have to create an excel file to track my outstanding differences. Are you asking how to automatically download transactions and then reconcile, so you don't have to enter transactions manually? |

| I just switched from quicken 2003 to money 2004 and I can't find the option to reconcile my accounts to online balances - only paper balances. I have checked the owner's manual and microsoft's web help. Am I missing something? I will be back to quicken in a second if I have to reconcile to a paper statement (which my bank and brokerage no longer send). Thanks Glenn |
