| I had the same thing happen with Money 2005 Premium. In my case though it was related to having reinstalled the software and then attempting the restore. Microsoft had issued an online update to the product that needed to be downloaded and installed first. Once that completed successfully I was able to restore successfully to/from the default location. -zender "Warren" <Warren[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:932AD187-D79A-420B-8C16-2FB59C067703[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I'm using Money 2003 Deluxe, had some troubles with the disk, now I'm > trying > to restore from a backup file. > I get a erreor message stating that money cannot locate or open the file > possibly beacuse it is read only or the disk is write protected. Rather than trying to restore to the default location, browse into your "My Documents" folder as the place to restore to. Perhaps select a different name for your Money file also, if that existing name exists in that folder. |

Do you get the restoration process to start, and get the error after> to restore from a backup file. > I get a erreor message stating that money cannot locate or open the file > possibly beacuse it is read only or the disk is write protected. Rather than trying to restore to the default location, browse into your "My Documents" folder as the place to restore to. | I'm using Money 2003 Deluxe, had some troubles with the disk, now I'm trying to restore from a backup file. I get a erreor message stating that money cannot locate or open the file possibly beacuse it is read only or the disk is write protected. I've unchecked the read only boxed of all money files and I still get the message. Any hope of recovering anything? |
