Somewhere else in the file is a <INVPOSLIST> ...</INVPOSLIST> which will show how many <UNITS> (shares) of each investment you have. That is where Money gets the numbers to compare with what it thinks you have. Thinking back, I guess I can say that if you are using DTV as a symbol for that investment in Money, don't. There will be no public symbol (<TICKER> ) available for that investment, so just blank the symbol for that investment. It is a mutual fund. |

I just looked into the spec. It appears to be a number that the> What is the field called <TRNUID> for. Money request file provides and is passed back in the response. It doesn't tell me anything useful. There could be more than one ACCTID if you have more than one account. Be aware that fields like : <BALTYPE> DOLLAR</BALTYPE<VALUE> +00000xxxx.xx</VALUE provide some info you could x out tho you have already mentioned the 1100 number. At this point, what I am suspecting is that your money is swept into a MM fund. That position data is in the file, but Buy and Sell transactions are not generated. Thus Money offers to do AddShares and RemoveShares to compensate. What you and others might do is to let Money generate the AddShares for a money market and then manually change them into Buy transactions. Similarly a RemoveShares generated from the position data could be turned into a Sell transaction. That then would adjust the Cash Transactions balance. Alternatively just get into the habit of telling Money to not adjust the positions. This is actually making sense to me now, tho it may not be obvious. Some other threads on Fidelity discuss this, but I was thinking yours situation was way different. http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q...04&safe=images So it would be interesting to look at the redacted file. |

That is strange.> different email address and yet another new file. Directv Grp Fund still > came down as a MF!! OK. Is it possible the account is a 401(K) administered for DirecTV and they actually have a private money market fund that they call Directv Grp Fund? If not, can you create a new file with NO Passport and set it up for Fidelity access? That would make sure that the access is OFX style and not Yodlee. If there is OFX access, it is possible to turn on logging of incoming OFX files as *RS.txt. The way to turn on that logging is to create a registry key. That can be made by creating and running a 4-line file called ProvLog5.reg. Then download. =====begin:ProvLog5.reg=============== REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\14.0\On line] "FLogProviderData"=dword:00000001 =====end:ProvLog5.reg=============== I can see your eyes rolling and hear muttering of "here we go again". If you got a resulting file in the same folder in your Money file after download, you make a copy named *.xml. Then you would look at that file using IE6. In the file you might see a string such as <SECNAME> FIDELITY CONTRAFUND</SECNAMEbut with the actual name of the fund. Now you would know for sure what is coming in from Fidelity. In a command window, this could be used to make the copy: copy "FidelityInvestments 950012345 RS.txt" \temp.xml WITH the quotes (substituting the actual filename) In the above case, you could enter "c:\temp.xml" without the quotes into the address box of IE6. Or do the copying and renaming in Windows Explorer. IE6 formats the file nicely-- or at least as nicely as you are going to find. |

With no asking whether you hold that fund under another name? I am> > "bad DTV". ******* Nope, next download adds a Directv Group Fund as a > > Mutual Fund again thinking that you started TWO bad "funds"... the one you renamed already, and the one that that got matched this time. So my theory is that "Directv Group Fund" was not actually added during this latest download, but was there before in addition to the other problem security. That can be handled. So you need to rename bad "Directv Group Fund", blank its symbol, and make a proper STOCK for DTV. I just need to post an additional version of dis_mf.ofx so that you can disassociate that one from downloads also. Or you can make your own.The file cannot use the same IDs as before. Make a copy of the previous one, but change *all* occurrences of "Zzzz" into "Zzzy". Or let me know, and I will post a modified file. Again follow that same method, but use the modified file. - quote - > > > > > > > > > When I try to import and at the point with the radio buttons that say > > > "This investment is already in my investment portfolio with > > > a different name. | We may be starting this with an incorrect assumption. The Directv Group Inc (DTV) is classified as a stock After completing your proceedure, when I download again it tries to come in as Direct TV Group Fund as a Mutual Fund again. Below following ******* is what I did according to your instructions. Please note I have DTV stock options in another account and I am told you can't export and re-import option accounts so I am trying to be careful with this file. Yes I have a backup. I think your problems include The Directv Group Inc (DTV) should> Microsoft Support totally messed up the file, so I'm back where I started. > I > think I have three problems, and I'm going to take them on one at a time. > Currently In my portfolio in another account, I have DTV Stock. Money somehow thinks that a Fidelity mutual fund holding (which I will call F***X) you have is also The Directv Group Inc (DTV). My suggestion is to 1. Rename the current DTV investment to a weird name-- perhaps "bad DTV"-- and blank its symbol. If you don't know how to rename it or blank its symbol, ask. 2. Create a mutual fund for (F***X) if you don't have one already using the right symbol. 3. Create a mutual fund for The Directv Group Inc if you don't have one already using the DTV symbol. 4. Go to the InvestmentActivities for "bad DTV" and change each transaction for "bad DTV" into one for the fund or stock referenced in items 2 or 3 above. When done, there should be no remaining transactions for "bad DTV" left. If you don't know how to find the InvestmentActivities for "bad DTV", ask. Do not delete "bad DTV" at this time. 5. If you did not download, you would be done. But you do download. Save a copy/backup of where you are at this point. 6. Disassociate "bad DTV" from its current download references by using the dis_mf.ofx file you prepared from the section of an earlier posting. If you can't locate that, ask. Follow the directions from that posting to make the fake download think that the "bad DTV" is a different weird fund to you-- one that is not DTV and is not F***X. 7. When you download for real, the download from Fidelity should now ask if The Directv Group Inc is known to you under a different name. Answer Yes. Select the one referenced in item 3. Ditto for F***X and item 2. 8. You should be in good shape now. If so, you can finally delete "bad DTV". - quote - > When I try to import and at the point with the radio buttons that say
If you keep your story on one thread, it could allow somebody to> "This investment is already in my investment portfolio with > a different name. | I have had to take my file back to one week ago when I bought 2005 Premium. Microsoft Support totally messed up the file, so I'm back where I started. I think I have three problems, and I'm going to take them on one at a time. Currently In my portfolio in another account, I have DTV Stock. Fidelity is trying to download "The DIRECTV Group Common Stock Fund" Should this be a new investment, different from Direct TV (DTV)? When I try to import and at the point with the radio buttons that say "This investment is already in my investment portfolio with a different name. I use the following investment in my investment portfolio to track this investment:". My Direct TV stock is not part of the drop down selection? So how should I handle this import? |
