| Update: After terminating the "hanging" money process, restarting money, exiting money (no hang this time), restarting money again, the update executed and finished (including updating the data file) in less than 30s. So it seems that there is a problem with a hang at shutdown after updating, but money recovers after two restarts. The bad with the good so to speak. |

I now have 14.0.125.1105.- quote - > How do I fix money to make the update succeed and money not 'hang' around
How long did you wait? The operation takes a while.> without a UI open. > How do I manually apply the update? If you waited ten minutes, I would try creating a new XP user with Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a new blank file. Let Money download the updates as that user. The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed. |

| I just let Money 2005 Premium install the update on XP Pro SP2. After the update installation there was an error message warning that money was busy, but the UI closed anyway. I tried to restart money after the update, but money says it is already running. The process viewer shows money is running, but no UI. I tried to logout of windows, but neither logout nor shutdown works, nothing happens (false returned to wm_queryendsession?). I killed the money process, and then I could logout. Logged back in, restarted money, and the version number is still 14.0.125.825 as it was before the update. What is the version number supposed to be? How do I fix money to make the update succeed and money not 'hang' around without a UI open. How do I manually apply the update? Regards Pieter |
