OK, it works - thanks - I had restricted my Securities List by hiding
all my closed positions. As a result, it wasn't allowing them to be
listed in the portfolio view. Now it does.

If you enter an "As of" date to a time you held the investment, it
will show the investment, even if the
SeeADifferentView-> ShowClosedPositions is not checked. If
SeeADifferentView-> ShowClosedPositions is checked, the stock is
shown even if the "As of" date has not been back-dated.

The "Portfolio" view has an "As Of" date selector that lets you get
the data as of a particular date. That view can be highly
customized. It looks a lot like a report, but it is not in the
reports section.

Default Quicken Won't Do It - Will Money?

I use Quicken. When I ask it to produce a report showing a historical
value of investments, it shows only investments that are still owned
today. It will not, for example produce an accurate report as of
December 31, 2001 if you have sold any of the investments that you
owned on December 31, 2001.

Will Money do this?
