In the Portfolio view, try setting the view to show closed
positions.

Money tracks your gains the way the tax woman does. When you realize it, the
clock resets. Maybe you want to do some stuff with MoneyLink and Excel?

I know how to add or delete investments, but I have another question. I was
forced to sell an investment for example, worth $10000. Before I sold it, it
had appreciated in value by $1000. I buy a new investment for the $10000.
Once I do this, Money loses all memory of my $1000 gain and the ROI for my
multi-investment portfolio is decreased. I want to know if there is a way to
flag the investment as $9000 invested, $1000 gained, and have Money tell me
my total ROI. I've tried several things with no luck... my bottom line is
that I want to be able to accurately track my investment's current value vs.
what I actually have put toward investing. Can you help? Thanks if you can.

How redundant. I was in a view where I didn't notice Cal's reply.

Generally you have to create a Buy investment transaction in the investment
account register. If it's an investment you don't already hold, you will be
prompted for the information necessary to define it.

For the existing investments you are moving out of, enter a Sell
transaction.

You can enter a Buy transaction for the new investments. If this is
an investment which is not already get listed, type the name into
the Investment box. Money will ask for data on that investment.

Default Adding investments to a retirement account

I have just made some changes to my retirement account as I now have more
options and wanted to switch some of my investments. I cannot see where I
add a new investment to an existing retirement account. My existing account
has always listed my investments, but I can't see how to add new ones.
