hey, thanks, you just convinced me to stick with quicken. q04 had the same
issues money05 is having but quicken cleaned out a bunch of the junk for q05.
so i guess i've got the best option for now ...

It will never help you conversion problem, but M04 is indeed a much better
choice than M05 (see http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.html for more of my
thoughts on M05) and may still be available at bargain prices. I would
consider midyear release of a Q05 converter a very slim probability, for
reasons previously cited.

sadly it's been some time since i "upgraded" to q05 so i can't go back.
although i'm not completely sure i like the new version of money - i demod
the trial version of m04 a while back and was very impressed, but the m05
changes aren't grabbing me yet, plus i'm not impressed with the complaints
i'm hearing here ... oh, well, i was planning on waiting for a bundle deal
with taxcut anyway so i guess i'll just keep waiting. maybe they'll have the
import problem fixed by then!

That has been the situation for all versions of Money since M02. M02 offered
the Q02 converter about halfway through its shelf life. (Or was it M01/Q01?)
I don't think Microsoft thinks that enabling the switch for Q users who JUST
UPGRADED to the most recent version of the competitive product makes for
enough of a market opportunity to justify screwing with it. Do you still
have a Q04 file around?

so you're telling me there is no way on gods green earth i can move to money
until money 2006 comes out? that seems incredibly short-sited and limiting
on ms's part. even if there are new file compatibility issues to be resolved
you'd think they could figure them out faster than 6 months and provide an
update to the current program rather than making users wait a full year. by
the time i can switch to money i'll be so tired of waiting i'll just say to
heck with it!

i did think i guy lower down in the forum said he had downloaded a money
update and was then able to import q2005 data. can someone verify for me
that this is true/false?

You have never been able to use same year files from Quicken. It is because
the two products are released at the same time and it takes MS about 6
months to work out the new Quicken file format and code up the import
routines.

Default import quicken 2005 into money 2005 trial?

folks, i get the same message i see many posting here - money tells me it
can't find all the quicken files even tho i know they are ok. it sounds like
this is fixed with an update to m05 but of course not in the trial version.
i'm not going to buy this without testing it first; is there any way i can
get a fixed version of the trial, or can an mvp let me know how i can get
around this? m05 is looking good but i'm not converting unless i know the
conversion will work!!!
