| You need to edit the fipartnr.ini file for your version to include the necessary data for your unsupported banks. The active version of this file is located under C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Applpication Data\Microsoft\Money\x.x\Webcache and gets overwritten whenever Money updates it (I believe that this is every Thursday from elsewhere in the groups). x.x will vary depending on your version of Money - for 2002 it is 10.0 I have a separate file that I keep the details for my foreign banks in and then paste this in at the end of fipartnr.ini whenever I want to connect to them. For example, the entry for 1st Source is N1st Source Bank G5002 OAFE9965C-310A-483D-A190-9FE7623A533D W1 D02/01/2000 Hhttp://1stsource.com/ Thttps://www.1stsourceonline.com/online/default.asp Mhttp://www.microsoft.com/money/money2002/usa/1stsourcebank.mnn X05/12/1999 RC * PLEASE NOTE: You cannot have multiple versions of Money installed on your computer, so this is the only way around the problem. Nor can you convert a database from US Money to UK Money, so make sure you buy the version that you want long term and stick with it. The easiest way to obtain the details for your bank (if supported by Microsoft) is to download the trial version and extract the ini file from mode0.cab or mode1.cab located in the System folder of the directory where you installed Money. Alternatively, your bank may supply you with the necessary details. | Just following up with a slightly different twist. Do you or anybody else know if "Microsoft Money 2005 for Dummies" in English corresponds with the Japanese version of Money?? | I am interested in buying MSN Money for the funtionality to connect to my bank and download balances and transactions where my bank is supported. I notice in the trial version that the list of banks available are only in the US. I have bank accounts at home (Australia), here (Japan, where I currently live) and Hong Kong, and keep funds in 5 currencies. Do I need a separate version of MSN Money for each country to be able to connect to the banks online? Or is there some configuration file available to allow one verion of Money to list banks in Multiple countreis? I also dloaded the Japanese version to see which banks were available there, but I am only semi-literate in Japanese, and I want to know EXACTLY what I am doing before I execute anything online. |
