Default Re: Mortgage Loan

In the loan account, there is a choice to update the amount owed. You could
do that before recording any payments. Alternately, when you create the
loan, Money asks it payments have already been made. You can answer yes and
see where that leads you. (I've never been down that path. I'd hope it would
ask how many payments remain and what the current balance is.) One final
scenario: set the date on your computer back, setup the loan, enter all of
the payments from the scheduled transaction, edit the splits of each payment
to offset the amount with unassigned income to keep from screwing up the
balance of the account the payments are coming from, then reset the
computer's date.

Great I had to scroll further down. Now how do I make an adjustment for the
payments I made all year i.e. it says I must enter a date for after the
program started tracking the loav.

Should I make the loan amount a different principal amount? i.e. pretend the
loan is the set amount it is now and then the number of payments left just
reduce it? it may not help me this year for taxes but should be ok next year
for tacking ot is there an easier way.

Your other suggestion was good, the scroll bar doesn't highlight so I mouse
wheel through the thing and finally found it.

Try using category Loan Payment:[name of the loan account] in your
transaction that pays the loan.

Default Mortgage Loan

Hi and Help!

O set up an asset of my house, I set up a loan.

My checking account is debited for the loan payment amount.

How do I transfer that amount over (automatically) to the loan. It will let
me transfer it to the assett of the house but that only increase the value of
the houyse, I want to see up to date what my loan amount is to make extra
payments etc...

If someone can help me out, the user manual is no help, the FAQ is no help.

Did I do something wrong, it is the same payee in the Payee section of the
checking account, but the Loan does not show up.... Help!
