The first one did it for me, but I posted the second in case your mileage varies... This problem can be caued by several factors. We may need time to narrow down. If you use Passport to sign in Money, please disable Passport first to check if it can solve the problem since the issue can be caused by the association with Passport: Remove Passport association --------------------------- 1. Open Money and sign into your Passport. Click the File menu, and then select Password Manager. 2. Click Remove. Select "I want to remove Passport from my Money file" and then click Next. Note: if you have set up synchronization with MSN, you will need to follow the instructions to remove the synchronization first. 3. Click Done. This is behavior is also caused by the update of Money program, please try these steps to manually update the Money to the lastest version: 1. Close Money. 2. Click Start, click Run, input the path for the installation of Money, add "mnycorefiles" after the path, and then click OK. For instance, on my end, Money is installed under c:\program files\microsoft money 2005\, so I should type the following command in the Open box and then click OK: c:\program files\microsoft money 2005\mnycorefiles 3. Locate manifest.xml in this mnycorefiles folder and copy it to the Desktop. 4. Right click the manifest.xml file under the mnycorefiles folder, choose Open With, and then click Notepad or Wordpad. 5. Change the beginning of the file from <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Package> <Files Time="2004-09-08T09:05" Version="14.0.150.1105" UIVer="TOK_UIVER" PVersion="1105" to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Package> <Files Time="2004-09-08T09:05" Version="14.0.150.825" UIVer="TOK_UIVER" PVersion="825" 6. Save changes and close the file. 7. Launch Money again and get Money updates. |

| This might be a service that is only started once money is started. If it is you would find it in the registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es Just do a ctrl-f for mnybbsvc.exe and see if it is in this branch. If it is you can stop it with the command: Run -> "net stop [service_short_name]" Art McClinton <art[at]nova.org> wrote in message news:<WHbkd.9759$ep3.8721[at]lakeread02> ... - quote - > Yes and when I openned an incident on it I was told by the money help > guru's that it is started when you start money to provide background > updates and runs even if you do not have any background banking going > on. | Yes and when I openned an incident on it I was told by the money help guru's that it is started when you start money to provide background updates and runs even if you do not have any background banking going on. I delete it on a regular basis. Marty List wrote: - quote - > With Money 2005, the process mnybbsvc.exe is always running even after > msmoney.exe exits. | With Money 2005, the process mnybbsvc.exe is always running even after msmoney.exe exits. Sounds like a "background banking" process, but it's not being loaded from the Startup group or either of the registry's Run keys. After a reboot it's not running, but it loads with msmoney.exe. Is anyone else seeing this run all the time? |
