Yes; they are installed automatically when you do an internet> does anyone know if one if forthcoming? update. Yes, they have been working on one for a while. |

| Thank you for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, my three legacy accounts that I'd like to merge the data into are also online (thus the reason for my frustration with Money 2005 in creating the "new" accounts in the first place). I bet switching to Quicken will rid me of this duplicate account problem. <g Does Microsoft have service packs for Money? Assuming the answer is "yes" does anyone know if one if forthcoming? It just reiterates what I already knew--technology journalists do a very poor job of testing products. Because if they did, there's no way they'd pile the accolades on Money 2005 if they'd had the experiences that many of us in this newsgroup have had (I couldn't even get the product to install for a month until I reregistered some MSI components that were missing). I wish they didn't write it from the "I've never used personal finance software before" perspective. Green fields exist but most of us aren't in Kansas anymore. Money allows to merge two accounts if one is online-enabled, i.e. downloaded during online setup; and another is not online-enabled. If there are several downloaded clones of the same account, delete all but one; then merge the remaining one to the (not online-enabled) old account. Vadim |

| Unfortunately, the three duplicate bank accounts I need to merge are not being displayed in the "Merge Duplicate Accounts" area. I tried opening and closing the accounts but it didn't do anything. What do I need to do take make them visible? | Vadim, If I "merge" the accounts will Money 2005 be intelligent enough to remove duplicate entries? Or, will I have to remove them manually? Thank you, Kent PS I would like to add this to the DCR list for the next version. In its current state duplicating accounts really makes Money look like an unfinished product. How do I do it? 1. change the register look from essential to advanced. You may want to specify that you you want Advanced for all your accounts by default. 2. use "merge duplicate accounts" and merge the newly downloaded accounts with your real ones. If you delete them, they will be recreated next time you update. Vadim |

| Welcome to M05. This is a feature. My suggestion is that you open a $upport ca$e directly with Microsoft. It'$ the only way to get their attention. | I wish I knew, I can't get them to go away either. I would like to know if there is a way to only download some of the accounts from my bank and not all. 2004 would let you do this. | I have been using Money for almost nine years. When I upgraded to Money 2005 Premium the program took it upon itself to create duplicate accounts for my checking, savings, and credit card that link to the bank I use. I believe Money calls them "Essential Account Registers" but they're totally worthless. If you had never used Money before or didn't like to keep track of transactions perhaps you'd find it useful but in my case I am very diligent about keeping track of all of our purchases and credits. Given the thousands of transactions that already exist for the other duplicate accounts I use you'd think the programmers would be wiser and not turn them on but no. Can someone tell me if I can actually delete the accounts and not wipe out my data at my bank? I "closed" each of the accounts in Money but the data they contain are still showing up in my budgets (even though they're not selected), on the chart part on the Money homepage, etc. I WANT THEM GONE. How do I do it? Thanks, Kent |
