| Same basic feature set (for my purposes anyway) but M2005 is WAY faster than any prior version. As I have been using Money for such a long time, my file size is large and prior versions were brutally slow, even on a very fast machine. With M2005, I no longer have that complaint. ![]() John "JohnA" <John[at]TheAtas.org-spamguard> wrote in message news:%23Mb%23FxyxEHA.3212[at]TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... - quote - > Hi JML. > What do you like about 2005 over previous revisions such as 2004? > -- John > "JML" <nospam[at]spamisbad.com> wrote in message > news:O1dFYrexEHA.3572[at]TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > > Sure would love for this to get fixed. | Sure would love for this to get fixed. Other than this (very signficant) problem, I am really liking M2005 and I've been a Money user since the early 90's. | I don't know for sure, but I think this is an OS thing. Update at Startup worked just fine for me until I upgraded to WinXP SP2. I have also noticed that some features and settings in Money are not saving to the registry. For example, the "Hide Update Progress Window" option checkbox in the update progress window. I would check it, and all would be fine... but then when I opened Money up the next day, it would be unchecked. I found a way around this through editing the system registry directly. I set the options myself in the registry and all works fine. It would just be a matter of finding where this setting is saved in the registry and I am sure it could be fixed. | I discovered this false-feature in trying to overcome the removal of Money Express from the product. I put a shortcut to Money 2005 in my Startup folder. Not that I actually want the whole app running all the time, but I need to be lured into the app regularly to stay on top of things. Anyway, when it launches on bootup, I still have to click on "Next" or "Sign In", then I have to wait for it to load, then I have to click through the process of forcing the Internet update. Then I have to navigate back to my Home or overview screen. It all adds up to a daily chore--especially compared to the old Money Express. Any other suggestions for dealing with the loss of Money Express? Thanks, Lee "Dick Watson" <littlegreengecko[at]mind-enufalready-spring.com> wrote in message news:e5QG2ENxEHA.2316[at]TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... - quote - > This is just one of many things about M05 that is just plain broken. > "Lee C." <noSpam[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:8c-dnT51-tAgehDcRVn-ow[at]comcast.com... > > Thanks in advance for any assistance. | Thanks in advance for any assistance. In Tools | Settings | Online Services, I have checked the checkbox to "Automatically update accounts online when I start Money" but it does not do it. In Help, under "About automatic online updates", it says to: 1. Save your bank sign-in information in Money. 2. Sign in to Money with a Microsoft .NET Passport. I have already done both a long time ago. Internet updates work when I force the update, but that is not "automatic". Software should make my life easier, Lee |
